Doodles and Such

I apologize for not updating in awhile... I've been lazy and and I haven't been creating much. But today, i finally bought the USB cable that can connect my computer to the printer and now I can scan in my hand-drawn images, instead of taking pictures! :) I'm very excited and i have been scanning in things left and right. This will be a lot of fun i think. Here are some random doodles that I did...
The image above is Tomoyo from Cardcaptor Sakura. This year at AX, i was able to attend a COPIC marker workshop and so i learned a lot about the markers and how to use them properly. So i bought 6 and went home to test them out. This is the result of me trying out the markers. It doesn't look great because i didn't spend a lot of time on the drawing (i quickly drew the outline in pencil and then traced it with my liner) because i wanted to get to the coloring. COPIC markers are amazing when you know how to use them and also use the right materials (i.e. liners and paper)! For this image, i used Strathmore 400 series Bristol paper. The paper is meant for pen, ink and markers because the surface is very, very smooth. COPIC markers are really good with that type of paper.

Above is an example that I created to show my high school students for our appropriation unit. Students had to take elements of an advertisement and copy it with transfer paper. I took the frame and the fishes from two different ads. Then i traced with black think sharpie and colored it in with oil pastels. The picture below is a close-up. I liked how the colors turned out so, I thought I'd share it with you. :)

I've never used Charcoal before and I'm still new to pastels. This weekend, I've been playing around with the two mediums. So far I like the effects that they create. What you do you think? Do you have any tips or feedback for me? :)

 Hyun Bin. Charcoal on paper.

Yoon Doo Joon (Doesn't really look like him though :\ ). Soft Pastels on paper.

Birthday cards and Trading cards

Here are some birthday cards that I made for some friends. For the one below, i used cardstock, markers, tissue paper.
Apparently, i can't spell...I used cardstock and markers.
One of my friend's favorite love story of all time is Jimmy Liao's "Turn Left, Turn Right" book. This is my attempt to reproduce one of his awesome drawings. Done in watercolor and pen.
 A self-portrait. Done in markers.
My sister is a big fan of the Twilight saga. I made her a trading card with Edward and Bella. Done with watercolor pencils, watercolor, and pen.

CD Art

Sometimes, I make cd's for my friends as gifts. But i dont like that the blank cds are so plain, so i add my own artwork. :)

The first two are my attempts to draw Hoon and Anna from the Korean move, "Late Autumn." They came out pretty good, despite the picture not looking like the real people. :{)

The cd below is a K-pop mix for my sister. She didn't know who BEAST were...so i had to introduce her with my drawings. :)
