Ah! so ideas for new pieces are cooking inside of my head. unfortunately, i have been lazy and have not started on putting these ideas on paper/canvas/wood/etc. ideas are floating around, but if i'm not doing anything with them...then it's pretty much useless. well. i do have two weeks of winter break. must get workin' then!! haha...first mission is to find a space where i can work.
I definitely need a workspace. it's hard for me to get started on projects if i dont have space where i can work. i really liked it when i was taking the art class at UCLA. i had a gigantic studio to use whenever i wanted. it felt great to stay in there overnights and work. :) i miss those days...
what are some good, impromptu, last minute work spaces out there in the world?
Because creating something with your own two hands is so amazing, I have no words to describe the process and the joy that it brings. Thus, I present you the process in pictures and the end products. Enjoy!

Painted Gifts
Alas! Being the poor college student that I am, buying gifts for people is not always a feasible option. Thus, I have found a better solution! What else could be better than a gift of hand painted picture by yours truly? :)
The one to your immediate left is a picture I painted for a friend who suffered with me in French 139 Winter 2009. She moved back to China, so I thought I'd give her something to remember our times together. :)
It's a scene of Paris at dusk. Some problems I have with this: You can't see the Eiffel Tower very well. It's blended it with the background. I didn't plan it out too well; Also, the lamp looks cool, but the other lights aren't doing too much for me; Another thing, too much sky, not enough of anything else; The colors are too dark, so nothing really sticks out. There's no focal point.

I told Garrett that I wanted a harem of beautiful men :D and he said that he wanted one with naked women. So I made a rough sketch of how I imagined him and his harem. Voila! The resulting product! :D
I tried to make it look like a classical painting. There is a reclining naked woman. A bowl of fruit. The three basic colors. oh...I guess its more mannerist because there is a column and a random curtain in the background. I declare this to be a fusion of motifs!
I was rather proud of this one. Can you feel the awesomeness that it is spreading?
